Consistory
Purpose
"I exhort the elders among you to tend the flock of God that is in your charge, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion but willingly, as God would have you do it -- not for sordid gain but eagerly. Do not lord it over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock." [I Peter 5:1-3]
Responsibilities
1. Assist and support the pastor in the affairs affecting the spiritual life of the church.
2. Aid in securing funds necessary for the support of the church in its various activities.
3. Volunteer to be head or alternate ushers and to be in charge of communion services. Appoint members to the Consistory when there is a need.
4. Serve as liaison between the Consistory and the committees; presenting to the Consistory the information provided by each committee.
5. Oversee the maintenance of all monies received and expenditures of monies for congregational and benevolent purposes.
6. Determine building use policy and oversee its operation.
Members
The committee will consist of the Pastor and no fewer than nine and no more than twelve members. They shall be elected to serve for a term of three years.
