Altar Guild
Purpose
To see that the worship space, the chancel area, is kept beautiful and in good order, both to glorify God and to provide a setting that enables the congregation to worship in a meaningful way.
1. Provide and care for the appropriate paraments for the altar, pulpit, and lectern.
2. Change the paraments for the appropriate season and/or worship celebration.
3. Educate the congregation to the message and meaning of the liturgical symbols, colors, the changing seasons, and the message they bring to us.
4. Clean and polish candlesticks, cross, baptismal font, offering plates, vases, and other parts of the worship center.
5. Clean and care for the Chalice and Flagon.
6. Submit an annual report from a designated committee member to the Church Secretary by December 31 of each year.
Membership
The committee will consist of twelve persons who each volunteer to serve one month of the year to be responsible for the chancel area.
