Centre Hall Council of Churches

Purpose

There are currently three churches in Centre Hall, PA.  They are Grace United Methodist, St. Lukes Lutheran, and Trinity United Church of Christ.  The  purpose of the Centre Hall Council of Churches is to promote ways for these three churches to work together ecumenically.

Responsibilities

1.  Plan ecumenical services on a rotational basis of the churches for a one-year period.   The year and change begins in September.  This includes Thanksgiving service, Lenten services, Summer Community Worship, and chicken barbecue.

2.  Rotate the Thanksgiving service among the three churches.  The Pastor of the next church rotation will serve as the speaker.

3.  Rotate the Lenten services for the midweek service beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending on Good Friday. 

4.  Oversee the planning and organizing of summer Vacation Bible School.

5.  Decide and conduct community projects.

6  Purchase items, when necessary, that the three churches may use.

7.  Monies collected at Community Services are applied toward Vacation Bible School expenses. 

8.  The Pastors of the respective churches will lead worship services at the Meadows on a rotational basis.  

Membership

The committee will consist of one member from each respective church elected for a three year term.
