Pastoral Relations

Purpose

This committee serves as an advisory group to the Pastor and as support for the leadership of the Pastor.  The main committee function is to create an atmosphere of open communication, fostering trust and confidentiality in order to openly discuss ideas, dreams, hopes, issues, expectations, and concerns. 

Responsibility

Provide a communication link between the Pastor and the congregation by providing support, giving voice to concerns of both Pastor and congregation as well as defining areas of potential conflict.  At the discretion of the committee and Pastor, issues may be brought to the Consistory. 

Membership

The committee is comprised of four members of the congregation.  Members are recommended by the Consistory President and the Pastor; newly suggested members shall be ratified by the Consistory.  One member of the committee shall serve as chairperson.  Due to the confidentiality nature of the discussions, no minutes should be recorded.
