Property Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the Property Committee is to provide care, maintenance, and improvements of the church property including the grounds, buildings and furnishings.
Responsibilities
1. Authorize repairs to any church property up to $1,000 maximum per repair item without approval of the Consistory or the congregation. All spending shall be cost effective.
2. Ensure proper insurance coverage and coverage of outside contractors who perform work to the church property.
3. Provide for snow removal, lawn mowing, and lawn care.
4. Schedule professional inspection/cleaning annually or as required for furnaces, fire extinguishers and other equipment located within church properties.
5. Conduct inspections and recommend corrections if required in accordance with the plan developed by the Property Committee.
6. Make recommendations to Consistory concerning disposal of any property items donated or belonging to the church.
7. Approve the temporary borrowing of any church item by a church member.
Membership
The Property Committee membership shall consist of four members. One is elected each year for a four year term. The chairperson shall be elected by the members of the Property Committee.
